Our Story and New Adventure

A New Adventure

It was just over two years ago when I quit a job I no longer loved, to start a marketing consulting company called Klimb Creative. I’m not going to lie – it was terrifying. There were so many unknowns. But, the one thing I did know was that I was motivated to make it work. I was excited, nervous, tired, driven, doubtful and hopeful all at once (which is a very confusing mix of emotions), but I had big dreams for Klimb Creative and was determined to make it into something special.

I look back on one of my first interviews in February 2016. I had written down goals for Klimb Creative and shared my chicken scratch with the content writer sitting across from me at a Biggby coffee shop. In the back of my mind, I thought these goals were a stretch. I wondered if I should even share them with her. Once I shared them, it became real. The pressure was on.

I never thought I would actually meet those goals in just two years. I had envisioned meeting my goals in three or five years – not two. Klimb Creative became more than I imagined. The people I have met, the companies I served, and the relationships I built over the last two years, have made an incredible impact on me as an individual and as a professional.

So, what happens when you accomplish what you set out to do? You continue planning and setting new goals.

Everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you’re climbing it.

In the fall of 2017, I hit a point that every business owner dreams of; I had more work than I knew what to do with. You might be thinking, “and that is a bad thing?”.  I was working long days, checking email on vacation, and saw no end in sight. I had to decide to either scale back or grow the company.

I decided to grow it.

But, I couldn’t do it alone. So when I was approached with a not-so-crazy idea to join forces with a well-respected and growing technology company, ASK, it seemed like the perfect time and opportunity for Klimb Creative to really reach for the stars. After a few months of planning, we made it happen!

The executives of ASK, Mike Maddox and Leo Orsini, and I teamed up to form Elevate Marketing Co. – a child of ASK and Klimb Creative.

Our goal with Elevate Marketing Co. is to serve small and medium businesses by providing them with marketing consulting, social media management and website design services. Much of our business structure is that of Klimb Creative, with a few added values, standards, and processes of ASK. What makes this new chapter so wonderful, is that there is a strong foundation and undeniable “synergy” (yes, I used that horrible buzz word) between Klimb Creative and ASK.

Let’s answer some questions.

What happens to Klimb Creative?

The name “Klimb Creative” is retired, but the business remains. In short, we added two new business partners and rebranded the company.

Why not keep the name “Klimb Creative”?

This was a tough decision, one that I mulled over for quite some time. The name ‘Klimb Creative’ held a very special place in my heart. It was my baby, and I watched it grow into something phenomenal. Sometimes you just have to go with your gut, and my gut told me to close that chapter. This new chapter deserves a new name.

Who owns Elevate Marketing Co?

Mike Maddox, Leo Orsini, and me, Katie Saglimbene

What is the advantage of having ASK as our sister company?

ASK has 25 years of experience under their belt in the technology industry. Their team of technicians, solutions specialists and project managers (to name a few) will be at our fingertips, which means we can offer our marketing clients business consulting and technology services, should the need arise.

In addition, we are seeing a trend of technology and marketing companies forming close bonds with one another. The reasoning: much of what we do with marketing is powered by technology. And from what we’ve experienced first hand, there is great synergy between the two industries.

Who do I talk to about marketing projects?

Me, Katie Saglimbene! While we have two new business partners, I am going to continue to run the company as I have been - you can also send us an email.

What services do we offer?

We will continue to offer marketing consulting, strategy, branding, social media management and website design and development.

Is this bittersweet?

Yes. Changing the name from Klimb Creative to Elevate Marketing Co. is bittersweet, but I must say, I am more excited each and every day about this opportunity. We are adding to our marketing team, expanding our services, and laying the foundation for a bright future ahead, something I could not do alone.

So this is our first post on Elevate Marketing Co.’s website. As you probably have gathered, this is only the beginning! So head over to Who We Are and learn more about us!
